Is Intuitive Eating For Everyone?

While intuitive eating is a powerful approach to reconnecting with our bodies and adopting a healthier relationship with food, it's essential to recognise that it might not be suitable for everyone and if you tried it and you were able to stick with it - it’s not a failure on your part.

🚫 Why this myth is unhelpful:

The misconception that intuitive eating is a one-size-fits-all solution can lead to feelings of guilt, shame, and inadequacy for those who struggle to connect with this approach.

‘Intuitive Eating’ requires a level of self-awareness and body trust - the opposite of what happens when you have been on and off diets for a long time. So if you have been dieting for years or even decades, going straight into intuitive eating without the correct guidance and personalised approach can set you up for failure, leaving you feeling frustrated and disheartened.

It is important to note that if you are neurodivergent, intuitive eating may be completely inaccessible for you for so many reasons and accommodations need to put in place to support you fully. If you want to know more about this, send me a message on WhatsApp to chat about it.
