Are You Really Beyond Help with Binge Eating?

Someone I spoke to recently shared this feeling with me, and my heart broke for them. Feeling like you’re beyond help is a real and painful experience, especially if you’ve been struggling with binge eating for a long time. It’s tough to imagine life without dieting and the endless cycle of restriction and guilt.

🚫 Why this myth is unhelpful:

This myth can make you feel stuck and hopeless, convincing you that no matter what you do, change is out of reach. It’s a heavy burden to carry, especially when you’ve been trying so hard and still feel like you’re fighting an uphill battle. This myth also: 

Adds to the Overwhelm: Believing that you’re beyond help can make you feel even more overwhelmed and helpless, pushing you further away from seeking the support you need.

Ignores Your Strengths: You might be focusing on your struggles and setbacks, overlooking the inner strength and resilience you’ve already shown. Every effort you make, even if it feels small, is a sign of your strength.

Prevents Seeking Support: Feeling beyond help can discourage you from reaching out for support. But connecting with someone who understands can be a turning point in your journey.
